Violin Maker and Restorer
Daniel Choi is a master string instruments and bow maker, restorer. At present he is owner of VIOLIN HOUSE LLC. in Carrollton TX.
Choi was born in Seoul, South Korea and started taking music lessons at the age of 10 and naturally took up the cello when he was 12. He graduated from Chung-Ang University in Korea with Cello Performance major in 2001, he spent his post graduation years in Italy receiving yet another diploma at Monte Verdi Conservatory, while also learning to make violins at A.Stradivarius Violin making international school in 2006.
Choi moved to New York City in 2006 and began his career as an instrument repair and restoration manager at Samuel Kolstein & Sons in NY.
It is during this time that he received his diploma in making and repairing bows at UNH of New Hampshire.
After then, he became a repair manager at Salchow & Sons Bow shop in New York until 2018.
